The Heldman Scholar-Athlete Award and Scholarship is presented to a graduating senior at Struthers High School who meets the criteria and who has been selected by a committee of area coaches, college instructors, and a member-at-large.

 The Scholar-Athlete Memorial Golf Outing is held each year as the scholarship’s only fundraiser.  It also pays tribute to a past SHS graduate who exemplified the criteria of the scholarship and is named the Memorial Scholar-Athlete for that year.
